Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that they expect to sell 3 million Kinects this holiday season. This morning, they brought that number up to 5 million. Someone’s feeling a bit confident.
The new figure comes from a tweet from Bloomberg’s Dina Bass, who added “That would make Kinect the biggest Xbox product launch ever in terms of sales, according to Microsoft’s Don Mattrick.” The tweet was then substantiated with a follow up tweet by Aaron Greenberg, chief of staff for Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business.
Kinect launches in the United States tomorrow, and the UK on the 10th.
