Despite how you might feel about Fall Out Boy, there is no denying they have a tendency to be infectious. Now their fourth album, "Folie A Deux," is out in stores and the first just-as-catchy single "I Don't Care" is already hitting the airwaves. Whether this latest record will go down in history as the biggest sell out of the generation or punk-emo martyrs for the masses has yet to be determined, but try and find someone who doesn't know the words to one of their songs. Just try.
If one was to judge by the calendar alone, the 21st century started eight years ago this week. Although, when...
What makes the film "Defiance" so unique is that without ever seeing concentration camps and with barely any physical presence from the Germans, director Ed Zwick was able to tell the story of the Jews' plight during World War II almost as masterfully as Stephen Spielberg did with "Schindler's List."
This season, bachelor Jason Mesnick, an account executive from Washington and runner-up on the latest season of spin-off show, "The Bachelorette," brings a new twist to the show: his three-year-old son, Ty.
Did Barack Obama just trick every single person in the country?
The economic crisis has literally changed the rules of government. The executive branch has overseen an injection of trillions of public funds into the private sector -- and without admitting it, has essentially conceded that American-style capitalism, which has been viewed as holy writ by economists, journalists, academics and politicians for 30 years, is not sustainable. There are still many unknowns about how Barack Obama will govern when he takes office later this month, but one thing is clear: Obama will have enormous power. [...]

The time between the end-of-year holiday rush and the new slew of first quarter releases is normally a dark one, where gamers wait for their wallets to fatten once again in order to greedily attack the next wave of fun. That's not the case this year though, as SouthPeak games released "Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars" in December, priming it for status as a sleeper hit.

Much like senior editor Liz Rafferty said in her review of the top 10 music hits of 2008, it was hard to pick out a top 10 best movies of the year. Consider it a top 6, with those being the ones that were absolutely phenomenal and final four being decent runner ups. However, 2009 looks like it could be a much better year for movies after the remaining issues caused by the 2008 writer's strike have faded away. And for anyone who criticizes the fact that "The Dark Knight" is number four instead of number one, go see the top three movies and you will understand.
Now that the gaming year of 2008 is over, it's time to take a look back at some of the best titles released. There are top ten lists popping up all over the Internet, but this list is going to be a bit different. Instead of simply ranking what I consider the ten best games of the year, I am going to list them with no specific order or reasoning to them. That way, I can just be chastised for the normal things authors of these lists deal with, like being biased for or against a system instead of "How could you rank [X] ahead of [Y]! You're a n00b!"

This year, my picks (for the most part) are the result of separating the less mediocre from the more. The first four albums are wonderful records that I truly believe are worthy of a top 10 mention in any year. But in a year with better musical offerings on the whole, I doubt the final six would even crack my top 20. It was difficult to place them in order because none of them particularly stood out to me. They're all fine records, but I'm eagerly looking ahead to 2009 for a better musical buffet.
