"The Spirit" is a horrible movie. Now go out and watch it. Sounds like a joke, right? Well, it is a joke and one that the movie is in on.
[rating:2.5/4] Technically speaking, “Revolutionary Road” was a well-done movie. The cinematography, the acting from both Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet,...

The Sunday comics have always been the best, though in an increasingly paperless world, we often forget that the comic...
Much like senior editor Liz Rafferty said in her review of the top 10 music hits of 2008, it was hard to pick out a top 10 best movies of the year. Consider it a top 6, with those being the ones that were absolutely phenomenal and final four being decent runner ups. However, 2009 looks like it could be a much better year for movies after the remaining issues caused by the 2008 writer's strike have faded away. And for anyone who criticizes the fact that "The Dark Knight" is number four instead of number one, go see the top three movies and you will understand.
So MTV named Twilighters the collective Woman of the Year, and in all honestly, Blast Magazine can see why. This...
This year, my picks (for the most part) are the result of separating the less mediocre from the more. The first four albums are wonderful records that I truly believe are worthy of a top 10 mention in any year. But in a year with better musical offerings on the whole, I doubt the final six would even crack my top 20. It was difficult to place them in order because none of them particularly stood out to me. They're all fine records, but I'm eagerly looking ahead to 2009 for a better musical buffet.
From its acting to visuals to historic significance, "Valkyrie" is engaging on all ends. Though it may not be the most heart-warming movie to be released Christmas day, it is the perfect movie for Oscar season.
[rating:4/4] BOSTON — Seeing the Boston Ballet perform The Nutcracker is a New England tradition. It’s one of our “things”...

Perez Hilton recently reported that "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke has been replaced for the film's sequel "New Moon" by director Chris Weitz ("The Golden Compass").
Next in line for a possible replacement is Taylor Lautner, who Blast already mentioned could be getting booted from his role as Jacob. Hilton said that actor Michael Copon ("The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior") is a possible candidate for the role.
Blast's queen of celebrity gossip takes a timeout to dish on the best of television in 2008. Topping the list: having to explain the meaning of a recent SNL Digital Short to our parents.
The movie is not a must-see, but anyone looking for a fun sci-fi film, go see "The Day The Earth Stood Still." Anyone who won't be annoyed by the fact the film tends to not make sense, go see it. Anyone who likes special effects more than plot and character development, by all means, go see it. But as a film based on a film that was a warning to take better care of our planet, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" does not nail its message home. Anyone going to the movie theater to see a quality piece of film, take your money and go see something else.
Spoilers included.
I can't, for the life of me, think of a good reason you should see the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still." [...]
The openly gay Van Sant makes a movie about an openly gay politician. Is it a gay movie? Not explicitly. It's a movie about hope, and a movie about changing the world.
Though many may not have taken away a trophy Sunday night at the 21st annual Boston Music Awards, it was clear there were no losers. The focus and goal of the ceremony was to highlight and celebrate the music scene of the greater Boston area and anyone who helped support it was treated like a winner.
Farcical, over the top, and totally implausible, a stellar cast somehow manages to turn a recipe for a forgettable holiday movie into an endearing foray into the joys and fears of a manic yet lovable couple - and the crazy families they try desperately to avoid at all costs. If you're looking for an enlightening Christmas movie that will teach you a lesson about the strength of the human spirit and provide a good dose of meaning for the kids - watch "Marley & Me." If you're looking to buy yourself some (overpriced) laughs delivered by some great actors, then hop on the "Four Christmases" bandwagon.
According to Ryan Seacrest on his syndicated radio talk show, actor Taylor Lautner, who played the character Jacob in November's hit "Twilight" and was expected to reprise the role in the saga's later installments, will not return in the second film, "New Moon."
