In the end, the parallels to Mickey Rourke are fairly obvious, and it might be one of the reasons that this is Rourke's best role of all time.
What makes the film "Defiance" so unique is that without ever seeing concentration camps and with barely any physical presence from the Germans, director Ed Zwick was able to tell the story of the Jews' plight during World War II almost as masterfully as Stephen Spielberg did with "Schindler's List."
"The Spirit" is a horrible movie. Now go out and watch it. Sounds like a joke, right? Well, it is a joke and one that the movie is in on.
[rating:2.5/4] Technically speaking, “Revolutionary Road” was a well-done movie. The cinematography, the acting from both Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet,...
From its acting to visuals to historic significance, "Valkyrie" is engaging on all ends. Though it may not be the most heart-warming movie to be released Christmas day, it is the perfect movie for Oscar season.
The movie is not a must-see, but anyone looking for a fun sci-fi film, go see "The Day The Earth Stood Still." Anyone who won't be annoyed by the fact the film tends to not make sense, go see it. Anyone who likes special effects more than plot and character development, by all means, go see it. But as a film based on a film that was a warning to take better care of our planet, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" does not nail its message home. Anyone going to the movie theater to see a quality piece of film, take your money and go see something else.
Spoilers included.
I can't, for the life of me, think of a good reason you should see the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still." [...]
The openly gay Van Sant makes a movie about an openly gay politician. Is it a gay movie? Not explicitly. It's a movie about hope, and a movie about changing the world.
Farcical, over the top, and totally implausible, a stellar cast somehow manages to turn a recipe for a forgettable holiday movie into an endearing foray into the joys and fears of a manic yet lovable couple - and the crazy families they try desperately to avoid at all costs. If you're looking for an enlightening Christmas movie that will teach you a lesson about the strength of the human spirit and provide a good dose of meaning for the kids - watch "Marley & Me." If you're looking to buy yourself some (overpriced) laughs delivered by some great actors, then hop on the "Four Christmases" bandwagon.

Bolt, a cute white German Sheppard who was raised in a TV set and believes has superpowers, was charming, funny and appreciated by young and old audiences alike.
About three things I am absolutely positive: first, I just saw Twilight. Second, there is a part of me - and I don't know how minuscule that part might be - that thinks it was almost okay. Third, it was unconditionally and irrevocably hilarious.
There was a lot of hype about making sure certain scenes were in the movie, or whether or not the characters were acted out properly or how director Catherine Hardwicke would be able to pull off making Edward's skin sparkle in the same beautiful way it was described in the book (which she didn't).
"Quantum of Solace" would be a good action-drama, if only it weren't a Bond film.

"W." was an incredibly well created piece of film, both visually appealing and character driven. It gave new insight into a public figure in ways that have not been shown before. Thought it had a few minor flaws, "W." is worth your money.
The biggest problem with "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" is that it stays well within the bounds of a normal teen rom-com. It doesn't go above and beyond, nor does it fail in creating a cutesy teen movie. It just was alright. The movie had the potential to be really great, even original, but settled with just being good.
[rating:4/5] Three characters left me pensive, lightheaded and in‚ good humor; Vicky,‚ Cristina and the city of Barcelona Woody Allen’s latest offering...
The only reason "Clone Wars" even gets half a star is because it's Star Wars, not because of any quality.
