After only three episodes, “The Playboy Club” on NBC is being cancelled. The 60’s themed show, set in a club in Chicago, will not be returning to the network. It is the first cancellation of this fall season.
For the next three weeks, reruns of “Prime Suspects” will air in its place. Beginning Monday, October 31 Brian Williams’ new show “Rock Center” will fill the 10 p.m. time slot.
While “The Playboy Club” drew 5 million viewers for its premiere episode, only 3.5 million tunned in for the third show. It was competing with “Castle” on ABC and “Hawaii 5-0” on CBS, which aired at the same time.
