Try to follow along: After getting canned from spending time with the Sesame Street muppets, Katy Perry — the actual person, not an animation — will appear in a skit during “The Simpsons” Christmas special this year, in which the animated “Simpsons” characters jet out of the cartoon world and become puppets in the real world.
“Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean told MTV: “In the wake of Elmo’s terrible betrayal,the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry.”
Joking aside, the skit was shot earlier this month, before Elmo-gate broke.
Perry will play Moe’s girlfriend in the skit, and there is some singing.
