Microsoft is to release a line-up of fresh twists on old classics and other new titles for the Xbox 360.
“I saw with my own eyes that the Xbox continues to bring together players from around the world while constantly welcoming new friends into the gaming community,†said president of Square Enix, Yoichi Wada. “Since the launch of the Xbox 360, we the Square Enix Group have been building a strong partnership with Microsoft. Our aim is to provide a new generation of entertainment to the gaming community of Japan, North America and Europe.â€
Microsoft is introducing, for the first time, and entirely new interface for the Xbox 360, and are making some serious additions.
“[We are going to be] greeted by entirely new interface and dashboard,†said John Schappert, corporate Vice President of Xbox Live software and services. “[We are] creating a brand new Xbox through the magic of software.â€
Microsoft wants to prove that the Xbox 360 can last. In doing so, it is, intentionally or unintentionally, revolutionizing the console system. Starting this fall, the 360 is no longer just a machine for gaming. It is an entertainment system.
